Dear Tamil Bloggers and Techies, we want to create a movement so that every computer in our home/office/web access point, should be able to handle our Tamil language flawlessly.
Aim of the project
OUR AIM IS ...
1. To Create awareness about TAMIL READY to the media, buyers, manufacturers, suppliers and users.
2. To Organize seminars and workshops in colleges and educational institutions
3. To Publish and distribute Brochures and How to do E -guides, Movies and Audio Instruction Guides.
4. To Distribute Freely available Softwares like Ekalapai and TamilFirefox.
We need volunteers for this project.
1. Visual Media Volunteers who can shoot a session " How to make/tune your computer Tamil Ready".
2. Technical Volunteers who can write documentation in Both Tamil and English
3. Liaison Volunteers who got contacts with Computer Manufacturers and Assemblers
4. Donors & Financial Volunteers ( We need money to buy Media Space in Print and Local TV media )
5. Project Coordination Volunteers ( To coordinate the entire project)
6. Lobbying Volunteers.. who can move with Government bodies.
Kindly Join this movement to make our language visible in every machine that will be sold or installed in Tamilnadu, Malaysia, Singapore and Srilanka and in all other Tamil Speaking homes across the globe.

கனினியில் தமிழ் என்பது சாத்தியமாக தமிழ்நாட்டில் விற்பனையாகும் ஒவ்வொரு கணினியும் தமிழ் ரெடி நிலையை அடைய வேண்டும். அதற்கு ஒரே வழி கணினி விற்பனை மையங்களில் உள்ள மென்பொருள் நிறுவும், பழுதுநீக்கம், os நிறுவித்தரும் பொறுப்பில் உள்ள கணினி பொருத்துநர்கள், சர்வீஸ் பொறிஞர்கள் கணினியில் தமிழ் நிறுவும் வழிமுறை அறிய வேண்டுவது தான். அவர்களே இதை அறியாதவர்களாக இருப்பதால் தான் இன்னும் தமிழ் கணிமை முழுமையாக சாத்தியப் படாமல் இருக்கிறது.

2. தமிழகத்தில் தற்பொழுது வாங்கப்படும் அரசு கணினிகள் பெரும்பாலும் லினக்ஸ் OS தான் (அதுவும் suse linux / redhat)
எனவே லினக்ஸில் தமிழ் உள்ளிடும் மென்பொருள் தேவை

We have developed a free software 'NHM Writer' which fulfills several functions in one go.
(1) No need to go through a complex process of Regional Language Settings etc. to enable Tamil to work. The software 'NHM Writer' does this automatically.
(2) Lightweight download allows multiple encodings, multiple input methods etc. and covers widest choice for the users.
(3) One time install takes care of every language, including future encodings and input method definitions.
(4) Works also in Vista.
(5) Allows enabling Windows Language Services, so that when you type in Tamil Unicode, Microsoft Office applications recognize the input as Tamil characters and switch to the right font settings.

Also, a open source port of this software is going on. This can be used in Linux machines.
